Best of 2016: Top 10 PruCenter Moments

2016 was filled with many memorable Prudential Center moments and we’re recapping the top 10 before ringing in the new year. Did your favorite make the list?

10- The Jonas’ Return Home

2016 included multiple performances from New Jersey natives, including Wyckoff’s Nick and Joe Jonas.

9- Never Forget Tribute Classic

On December 10, 2016 NCAA Champion Villanova Wildcats, Notre Dame, Pitt and Penn State tipped off at Prudential Center in the inaugural Never Roget Tribute Classic to a sold-out crowd.


Prudential Center is the East Coast home to K-pop and KCON returned to Newark for two sold out days of concerts and festivals.

7- Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour

It was a family reunion at The Rock for Bad Boy Family records as they took the stage to celebrate 20 years of success.

6- One Jersey Opening Night

The Devils kicked off their 2016-17 to a franchise best, 8-1-2 record at home. Doors opened for the New Jersey Devils’ season on October 18th with a red carpet featuring your home team, New Jersey Olympians, and more.

5- Gymnastics

From The Rock to Rio and Rio to The Rock! Olympic Gold medalists Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Simone Biles and Aly Raisman all made appearances at The Rock in 2016. First,

Gabby Douglas took home the title during the 2016 American Cup before going on to win gold in Rio.

After Rio, Laurie Hernandez, Simone Biles and Aly Raisman brought their medals to Prudential Center for the Kellogg’s Tour of Gymnastics Champions.

4- Impractical Jokers

The Impractical Jokers returned to The Rock on November 3rd for their LIVE Season Finale and TruTVs most-watched telecast of the year!

3- Justin Bieber

What do you mean you missed Bieber at The Rock? Well it makes our top 10 with all the Beliebers at PruCenter.

2- Bruce Springsteen

"NEW JERSEY! It feels good to be HOME!" It isn’t a memorable year in Jersey without Springsteen. Were you at The Rock for his SOLD-OUT River Tour?

1- Martin Brodeur Retirement Night

Our personal favorite, on February 9, 2016 the New Jersey Devils raised a new banner to the Prudential Center rafters, when they retired Martin Brodeur’s number 30.
