NEW YORK LIBERTY 2012 REGULAR SEASON SCHEDULE ANNOUNCED
Season-Opener at Prudential Center on Saturday, May 19 Against Connecticut
New York, NY - January 19, 2012 - The New York Liberty will tip off the 16th season in franchise history with a back-to-back campaign against the Connecticut Sun on Opening Weekend of the WNBA's 2012 season. The Liberty will host the front end of the team's back-to-back matchup on Saturday, May 19 at Prudential Center at 4:00pm and then head to Mohegan Sun on Sunday, May 20 according to the regular season schedule announced today.
New York's schedule will feature 17 home games that include hosting Maya Moore and the defending WNBA Champion Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday, May 22, the defending Eastern Conference Champions Atlanta Dream on June 5 and June 24, and the 2010 WNBA Champion Seattle Storm on Saturday, June 30.
The Liberty will play their final home game before the WNBA breaks for the Olympics on Friday, July 13 for the team's annual Camp Day Game starting at noon. The team will return to action on Thursday, August 16 to open the second half of the season at home against the Connecticut Sun once again.
The squad will then host its longest home stand of the season with six games in a row at Prudential Center featuring a visit by longtime rivals the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday, September 5 and the Los Angeles Sparks on Sunday, September 9. The regular season will wrap up with another back-to-back match-up with the Liberty playing in Tulsa on the final leg of a three-game road trip on September 20 then another meeting of the teams for Fan Appreciation Day on Saturday, September 22.
This season, the Liberty will launch a number of fan driven initiatives including community festivals and events throughout the Newark, NJ area. The team will invite their fans to an Opening Day Fan Fest at Prudential Center's Championship Plaza to jump start the season. The team will also continue to work with the Garden of Dreams Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization that works with all areas of The Madison Square Garden Company to help make dreams come true for children facing obstacles in the tri-state area.
For the first time, Liberty courtside season ticket holders will have exclusive access to the Platinum Lounge at Prudential Center which includes premium seating, complimentary food and beverage offerings and is located on the event level. The Liberty will also introduce an exclusive Private Concert Series for season ticket holders that will feature popular music groups such as the all-female rock band Antigone Rising, folk/blues artist Toshi Reagon, global pop/dance recording artist Brian Kent and comedian Kate Clinton.

New York Liberty, presented by Foxwoods, will call Prudential Center in Newark, NJ home for the second of three seasons while Madison Square Garden continues its historic, top-to-bottom Transformation. Prudential Center is a convenient 15 minutes away from The Garden by train.
