Building Opens Year Following Best December To Date

Newark, NJ - As Prudential Center celebrates its fifth anniversary, the arena starts off 2013 with not only with high praise and accolades but with high caliber events featuring some of entertainment's biggest superstars.

The Rock was ranked in the Top 25 'Top Spots of the Decade' by industry publication, Venues Today, the only building on the list that hasn't been opened for 10 years. Bruce Springsteen, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jennifer Lopez and Enrique Iglesias, K-Pop stars Big Bang, the 2012 NBA Draft and the 2012 gold medal winning US Women's Gymnastics team all took center stage throughout the course of the year.

December led the way for Prudential Center's strong closeout of the year. Carrie Underwood, The Who and the nationally televised WWE Presents Monday Night Raw led off the lineup for the month. The world's focus was on the Rock when the legendary Rolling Stones took to the stage for two unforgettable nights. The sold out performances featured special guests Bruce Springsteen, Lady Gaga, The Black Keys, John Mayer and Mick Taylor. The Saturday, December 15 show was highlighted by a worldwide Pay-Per-View concert event along with E! Network's live broadcast of an hour long preshow.

In addition, a 2013 star studded lineup has started to be announced. Concerts include two sold out Justin Bieber dates, three sold out Taylor Swift performances, as well as first time appearances from Fleetwood Mac, Rod Stewart with Steve Winwood and Romeo Santos. Show dates have also been announced for the return of Andrea Bocelli, UFC 159: Sonnen vs. Jones and Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey to the Rock. The Rock will also play host to the 2013 NHL Entry Draft in June.
