The New Jersey Devils hold an all-time advantage over the Ottawa Senators, winning more than 60 games in their three-decade history. One of the Devils' greatest moments against the Senators came during the 2003 Eastern Conference Finals when Jersey won the series 4-3. The team would go on to win its third Stanley Cup.
In the 2024-25 season, Hischier and the Devils faced off against the Senators on October 17 in Ottawa, winning 3-1. The Sens took the W in their second matchup, with the Devils falling 2-1. The team's final matchup against the Senators was on home ice on March 22, resulting in another loss for the Devs. In the game, Jesper Bratt tallied his 61st assist, setting the Devils record for most assists in a season.
New Jersey plays Ottawa in three games during the 2025-26 season. The Devils travel to Canada for the first two games on December 9 and January 31. New Jersey hosts the Senators at the Prudential Center in April to play the final game of their series.
