The NJ Devils and Edmonton Oilers faced off two times during the 2022-23 season, both matchups resulting in a Devils win. Their first game against each other on November 3, 2022 saw a dramatic finish with the Devils scoring two goals in the final four minutes of the game. Their second matchup of the season on November 21, 2022 resulted in a 5-2 Devils victory at home, with five different Devils scoring goals. The Devils lost both matchups against the Western Conference Champion Oilers during the 2023-24 season.
In the 2024-25 season, the Devils face off against the Oilers on one more occasion. The Oilers hosted the Devils on November 4, with the Devils defeating the defending Conference Champions in a 3-0 shutout. On March 13, the Oilers play the Devils at home in Newark.
