With only 90 miles separating these two Metropolitan Division rivals, the Devils and Flyers have a storied history. Sometimes referred to as the Battle of the Jersey Turnpike, the state of New Jersey divides their allegiances between these two teams. The Devils and Flyers have faced off on more than 250 occasions in the NHL.
In the 2022-23 season, the Devils and Flyers faced each other in 4 games, with the series split at 2 wins each. The Flyers took the first game with a 5-2 victory, but the Devils fought back in early December with a 3-2 win in Philadelphia. Their next game on December 15th in Newark resulted in a 2-1 win for the Flyers, but the Devils rallied back hard with a 7-0 shut out in February at home to end their season series.
In their 2023-24 season series, the Devils and Flyers each took two wins each. The Devils took down the Flyers in Philadelphia on November 30, with Luke Hughes' game winning goal in overtime. The Flyers rallied back on December 19, winning in overtime. On February 17, the Devils and Flyers faced off in the 2024 Stadium Series, with the Devils winning 6-3. The Flyers came back to defeat the Devils in a 1-0 victory on April 13 to wrap up their season series.
